Happy Birthday!

Today is my oldest, and dearest friend's birthday. She 27. And we've known each other since we were 5. It's been a while since we chatted. But I never forget her birthday. I sent her a quick e-mail early this morning. Just sending her good wishes. I wish we didn't live so far away. I miss our silly girl talk. And all the crazy things we did together. Let's just say, we learned a lot together!

She is the kind of friend that somehow becomes family. You don't see it happening. It just does. And then, one day, you're inseparable! You do everything together. But with age, comes life lessons that we all learn. And my best friend was moved across the country.

I still miss those days. The ones when we'd sit and chat about everything and nothing at all. We just knew what the other was thinking. We'd sit and eat chicken nuggets and talk about boys. We were a pretty hilarious pair. I just hope she has the best birthday ever! ♥Besitos

Crazy Ladies

This is one of my favorite books ever! I don't know why, but the main character, she reminds me of mi Abuelita. But this is just a good read. Something to take your mind off of life. And all of your troubles.

I got a lot of good laughs from this book. I think I first read it about 5 years ago. And ever since, I've given lots of copies to my friends. All of who love this book too! It's just that great! And I'm so happy to have it. :)

Michael Lee West is a great author. He paints such great pictures with his words. I just can't help but love this book. And all the characters. All of which are complicated in their own ways. But it all ties back to family. If you're looking for a good book, I'd recommend this one! ♥Besitos

Life Unexpected

My new favorite show is Life Unexpected! It's quirky and hilarious! It sorta reminds me of Gilmore Girls. It's just that kind of show. I know, not everyone is going to like this show. But I do. It's silly. And a feel good show. Something that I enjoy a lot! I like the mix of characters. I just can't wait to see where this show goes. ♥Besitos

Scared

Today was pretty scary. I was sleeping. I had, had a long shift at work. And I came home and just went to sleep. Only to wake up to a lot of noise. I freaked out. It was kind of stormy. A little scary already. But I made it to the back of my house. We're I faced a gun. Head on.

There were 2 police officers in my house. They had crawled in through a window. And that's what I had heard. Supposedly, they had been called by the mailman. He was concerned that I hadn't been picking up the mail. Which was a total lie. I bring in the mail every single time I come home. And that day, I had brought it in when I had gotten home.

I have a feeling, they were looking for my brother. I don't know why. But I just do. They searched my house. Looking for something. But I'm not sure what. Int he end, they left. The Sergeant that was with them, left his card. I think he was really worried.

They called the paramedics too. Just to make sure I was OK. Clearly, I was shaken up. Who wouldn't be. It was a scary experience. Anytime a gun is pointed at you, it's scary. I was in tears. I had no clue what was going on. It just makes me wonder, what is going on...

Now, I need to pull myself together. Everyone just left. And I need to head back to work. I'm not going to lie here, I'm still really shaken up. But I have a job and responsibilities. I just hope, nothing else crazy happens tonight. ♥Besitos

Soffe Shorts

I was a cheerleader for over 5 years. And Soffe Shorts were a staple. A must have! We wore them every single day! I would say, we at least ordered 10 pair a year!

I know what you're thinking, it's January. Who in their right mind wears shorts right now? I don't know. But I do. To workout in. To go running outside. And to relax at home. They've been a staple piece since I was 13 years old.

They come in so many colors. And are easily the most comfortable shorts you will ever wear. Ever!

Yes, back in the day I had some shorts that were personalized. With my name, our school's name, or our mascot. And on the butt of them, we had various things as well. I'm sure the guys from our high school remember some of our cheers, just because of our shorts and bloomers. :)

And although it's been years since I've cheered, these little guys are about the only thing that I've really hung onto. They're perfect for running. And for working out. And when the elastic gets bad, they're good to sleep in too. ;)

How come these shorts seem so much longer than ours? I would have paid good money for longer shorts. As I remember them, our butts used to hang out of them. No lie! I used to wear my bloomers or spandex shorts underneath. Yes, our shorts and skirts barely covered our tushies. :)

But we lived in them. We had red, white, and blue ones for games. And I don't know how many different colors for practice. Our coach was silly like that. And come to think of it, I think she was the reason all of our bottoms were so short. In fact, I know she was! I was hated uniform ordering. She would have all of our skirts shortened. I know we didn't like it, but again, I'm sure the guys in our high school enjoyed it.

But there you go. My love of Soffe shorts. Back then, we ordered them with our uniforms. Now, well I still have plenty of pairs that fit. And I've occasionally bought some at Hobby Lobby. They're at least 2 inches longer. And I'm happy about that.

Soffe shorts are the most amazing things to workout in. The little slits on the side all for a lot of flexibility. And the shorts are so breathable. If you live around here, yes, I'm the mujer that runs in these shorts, in the dead of winter. ♥Besitos

My Big Brother

Today, my oldest brother goes home. We're actually getting ready now. To go pick him up. It's weird. I'm happy, but also worried. I can't explain it. Like something is not completely right. But I'm not going to think about that. Not today.

My Dad is really excited. And my brother is going to be living at my parents' cabin for a while. It's going to be nice to have him near. And now, maybe my Dad will get some more help in the business. I know, it's a lot of work for just him and my Mom. I try my best to help, but I live over 200 miles away.

So this day, it's a mixed blessing. But I hope it's new start for my brother. A positive start. To make something better of his life. To be a better person. I guess only time will tell. But I'm still hopeful. Now, I need to go get ready for the big day. We're all heading back to my parents' house later today. ♥Besitos
