Consuming Passions

Do you remember when I blogged about Crazy Ladies? It's such a great book! And I've been looking for a good book to read. So I logged on to my Barnes and Noble account. Because I have Michael Lee West saved as a favorite author, this book came up as a recommendation.

I really think that I need to get it. Consuming Passions looks like another good read. And I seriously need something else to read. Besides all these medical books. Sometimes, school just kills my passion to read. But this book just might reignite my reading fire. ♥Besitos

Crazy Ladies

This is one of my favorite books ever! I don't know why, but the main character, she reminds me of mi Abuelita. But this is just a good read. Something to take your mind off of life. And all of your troubles.

I got a lot of good laughs from this book. I think I first read it about 5 years ago. And ever since, I've given lots of copies to my friends. All of who love this book too! It's just that great! And I'm so happy to have it. :)

Michael Lee West is a great author. He paints such great pictures with his words. I just can't help but love this book. And all the characters. All of which are complicated in their own ways. But it all ties back to family. If you're looking for a good book, I'd recommend this one! ♥Besitos

It's All in the Frijoles

This book, it's one my favorites. :) When I first moved, I went shopping. I had little money. Very little money to just throw away. I was now a happy home owner, and a soon to be college freshman.

But I found myself in the quaint town, nearby the college town I was living in. And I was in this dusty old bookstore. Oh bookstores. How I love thee! There I found Yolanda Nava's book. And I just had to have it.

There went my trip to the nearby Candy Shop. But I had this amazing book. Which I read from cover to cover that evening. It was the middle of July. Hot and rainy. I sat on an old side table, in my porch. A table that the previous owners had left behind. And I was in love!

"It's All in the Frijoles" cost me $15. And was well worth it. That was nearly 7 years ago. And I still have it. The following summer, my grandparents came to visit me. And mi abuelita fell in love with this book. There's just something about it. The stories and dichos take me back to my childhood. It's a great find for anyone wanting a good read. ♥Besitos
